چکیده
Fe–Mn–Al–Ni superelastic alloy is a potential candidate for diverse engineering applications due to its outstanding properties and low material costs. Recent studies suggest that slight changes in the chemical composition severely affect response, phase stability grain growth kinetics. In this paper, we found Al stabilizes parent α at high temperature promotes formation of β precipitation lower temperature. An with 3:1 ratio between Ni produces homogeneously distributed precipitates fraction alpha matrix after quenching from 1200 °C. The presence these phase, lowers martensitic transformation gives fully-reversible stress-induced behaviour without need apply an aging step. alloys content produced during restricted pseudoelasticity impaired.

Constitutive modelling and numerical simulation of multivariant phase transformation in superelastic shape-memory alloys
This work concerns the micromechanical constitutive modelling, algorithmic implementation and numerical simulation of polycrystalline superelastic alloys under multiaxial loading. The model is formulated in finite deformations and incorporates the effect of texture. The numerical implementation is based on the constrained minimization of the Helmholtz free energy with dissipation. Simulations a...
متن کاملAnalysis of spherical indentation of superelastic shape memory alloys
Dimensional analysis and the finite element method are applied in this paper to study spherical indentation of superelastic shape memory alloys. The scaling relationships derived from dimensional analysis bridge the indentation response and the mechanical properties of a superelastic shape memory alloy. Several key variables of a superelastic indentation curve are revealed and examined. We prov...
متن کاملThermal stability and phase transformations of martensitic Ti–Nb alloys
Aiming at understanding the governing microstructural phenomena during heat treatments of Ni-free Ti-based shape memory materials for biomedical applications, a series of Ti-Nb alloys with Nb concentrations up to 29 wt% was produced by cold-crucible casting, followed by homogenization treatment and water quenching. Despite the large amount of literature available concerning the thermal stabilit...
متن کاملPhase stability and elastic properties of Cr-V alloys.
V is the only element in the periodic table that forms a complete solid solution with Cr and thus is particularly important in alloying strategy to ductilize Cr. This study combines first-principles density functional theory calculations and experiments to investigate the phase stability and elastic properties of Cr-V binary alloys. The cluster expansion study reveals the formation of various ...
